At Action Community Church we long to be a church where lives are changed, families are made whole, and Christ-centered communities are formed. A church that cares not just for our own children, but for the countless children in the community and around the world who are lost, hurt, exploited, and forgotten. A church that can say not just our own neighborhoods, but the city and the world are better because we exist. A church where friendships are formed, the arts are expressed, churches are planted, and the Kingdom of God is lived out here and now. In short, a church where faith, hope, and love are put into action.
Purpose: To connect people to their part in God’s Story!
Values: Upward, Inward and Outward
Upward: We value worshiping Christ in everything we do; therefore we live our lives with an “upward awareness that presents our whole being as worship to the Lord (Romans 12, living sacrifices). This means that everything we do is an opportunity to bring glory to Christ: our work, our play, how we treat others, and yes, our public gatherings!
Inward: We value the transformation of the Spirit in the individual’s life and his work within our community (John 4:1-42, the Woman at the Well). We believe the Holy Spirit empowers us to live victoriously as he frees us from the power of our old stories, re-writing something marvelous in us and through us.
Outward: We value participating in the mission of God in our neighborhoods, communities, and throughout the nations of the world. We are all missionaries, called and equipped by God to reach our own mission field (Acts 1:8, Jesus’ Great Commission).
“Dear children, don’t just talk about love. Put your love into action. Then it will truly be love.” 1 John 3:18
